GENERAL NEWS: A New Year, Fall Orientation 2010, Accreditation Update and 5 Things

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

We just finished another wonderful orientation for our new students and again, we have a diverse and super intelligent incoming group. It is so good to know that so many are committed ensuring that people get the information they need and leave the world a better place!

Everything is good here at Davis and USC. We are searching for two new faculty members so will be in Boston at ALISE interviewing and hoping to find candidates to bring in for onsite visits. I will also be meeting with the ALA Committee on Accreditation Sunday, January 17 at 9:30 a.m. Think good thoughts for us.

The weather here has been freezing for a week but luckily NO SNOW! I just keep thinking about all the people that can’t stay warm and the crops that are getting frozen. . . Makes me so very grateful for my furnace!

So, Happy New Year! Hope you are safe and warm. I will let you know how we fare in Boston. In the meantime, here are 5 things to read and think about:

Let me know if there is anything we can do for you and don’t forget to hug a librarian!
