GENERAL NEWS: SC SLA's 25th Anniversary (Sept 24, 2010)

Sept 24, 2010

Hello and happy Friday!

I’m on my way to offer congratulations to the SC Special Library Association meeting celebrating their 25th anniversary! Just a couple of things to share – first, our ICOMM week events are spectacular, beginning Sunday, October 3 with an afternoon of events honoring the legacy of Augusta Baker and continuing through the week with Dr. David Carr speaking on “Communities of Aspiratiion” on Friday, October 8. Complete schedule is at http://www.sc.edu/cmcis/news/icomm/2010/index.html and many of the session will be taped for web streaming. Second, please look at this: The Future of the Book, from Ideo

http://vimeo.com/15142335. It is commercial but has some very interesting concepts that may influence how people read.

Have a great weekend, do a rain dance and hope that the cold front makes it to Columbia before we all melt. I am so grateful that I am not a roofer!

All the best to you and yours and let me know if you need anything!

Dr. sam
